Happy Bday !!!
Today is the 25th November, in my country it is very special day… or at least it is supposed to be a very special day… Today in BiH we are celebrating the settlement of our country as modern country. ZAVNOBiH (Zemaljsko antifašističko vijeće narodnog oslobođenja Bosne i Hercegovine) created independent country on modern basis on 25h November in year 1943 in Mrkonjić Grad.
Unfortunately today this event which is out of big importance for whole country is being celebrated only in half of the country. The Federation of BiH is celebrating this day while in Republic of Srpska it is not even a holiday. Big number of Croats from FBiH don’t feel or don’t want to feel the importance of this day, due to the fact that they consider Croatia as their homeland.
It is in deed sad that citizens of one country don't respect the birth day of it. Moreover, recently the situation is very unstable in this country because separatist tendencies are stronger than ever due to the neighboring impacts and manipulations. The expected solution of Kosovo issue is indirectly supporting popularity of Serbian radical parties in Bosnia and Herzegovina and in that way hampering progress of Bosnian'Herzegovinian negotiations with EU.
Many Western media are writing about possible outcomes of this bad situation, and many countries already claim that war here is inevitable. The truth is that in future this country will pass through some reforms because present situation is not acceptable for any of ethnic groups inhabiting this areas. Because of the conflicting points of view and demands someone will be obstructed. This dissatisfaction may cause some armed actions, but period 1992 - 1995 will not occur again. The situation in county is far better regulated now, international community is aware of the situation and there is no big military support from neighboring countries Serbia nor Croatia.
Hopefully everything will be solved diplomatically and reasonable solutions will work out in order to create healthy society, democracy rather than enthnocracy, and international community will ensure peaceful development of the country as well as the region.
